Elaine Morgan Photography

Hi, I'm Elaine!

Ever since I first held a camera, I’ve been captivated by the way a single frame can freeze a fleeting moment. Photography, for me, is more than just a hobby—it’s a way of seeing the world. Through the lens, ordinary scenes transform into stories, emotions, and memories I might otherwise forget.

I love how photography demands both patience and spontaneity. It teaches me to slow down, to notice the subtle shifts in light or the expression on someone’s face just before they smile. Whether I’m wandering through a city or hiking through nature, my camera is an extension of how I connect with the world around me. It is my passion. Sharing it with others that might not otherwise get to see the locations gives me great joy.

My Photo Gallery

A small sample of my favorite photos

My Top Three Favorite National Parks

Sandwash Basin

While not a national park the Sandwash Basin northwest of Maybell Colorado is an amazing place. It is one of my all-time favorite places to photograph wild mustangs. It is an area rich in history and beauty.

Canyonlands National Park

I love taking photos in Canyonlands National Park. The views are spectacular.

Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton Natural Park is one of my favorite locations. It has big, tall craggy peaks, rivers, Mormon row barns, and wildlife galore. Then there's the geysers and water features.

What Photography Means To Me

Photography changed my life

Photography helps me look at the world in a different way. Because of photography, I notice shapes and patterns that nobody else seems to notice, and I want to photograph them! I see the infinite beauty around me, and I want to freeze it in time to share as well as remember.

I truly believe that photography helps me enjoy my surroundings more. I have a new appreciation for the beauty of the earth, and I love sharing that beauty with others through my photos. More than just an artistic outlet, photography has become a way for me to be present, mindful, and more deeply connected to the world around me. There is something truly healing in nature. When I find life to be difficult, I escape in nature and dive into the peace and healing through my lens.

My favorite Photo

I have a difficult time choosing my favorite photo. It is a similar task to choosing my favorite song, or favorite food. It's not easy.

I find that the photo that might be my favorite today can change with the beauty I find tomorrow. Sometimes it may be a photo of the same location, but with a different light or weather event. But often I find a new location and a new favorite comes to light.

My Camera

I love my cameras deeply—not just as a tool, but as a constant companion in my journey through life.

It's been with me across the country, capturing moments both grand and intimate, giving me the power to freeze time and tell stories through light and perspective. From sweeping mountain vistas to golden colors of fall foliage and even portraits, it has helped me see the world more clearly and express the way I feel about it.
